Specimen Collection and Preparation
Either serum or EDTA plasma can be used in the GlycoMark assay. At the lowest limit of detection (0.49 +/- 2SD), 1,5-anhydroglucitol is stable at 2 -8°C for 7 days and at 22°C for 5 days. Samples can be frozen long-term at -80°C. 1,5-AG can withstand at least three freeze-thaw cycles at -80°C.
Shipment of samples should be on ice or over long distances on dry ice. GlycoMark recommends checking with your laboratory for their specific requirements for shipping samples.
